Learn how to efficiently and accurately design reinforced concrete foundations. Using S-FOUNDATION Professional, we cover the basics of defining footings, pads, pedestal and pile configurations, applying loads, understanding the difference between the rigid and flexible design methods, organizing your foundation model with legends and folders, generating foundation design reports and combining the superstructure and substructure models for further analysis. A brief introduction to creating and customizing automated processes using Wizards, and the S-FOUNDATION API is included in this course.

Introduction to the S-FOUNDATION User Interface and Navigation

Basic modeling: creating various footing types

Grid Systems

Model Organization with Folders and Labels

Design Groups

Defining pads, pedestals, soil profiles and piles

Applying loading in cases and combinations

Code checking the structure with the rigid approach and flexible (FEA) approach

Pile Foundation Modeling and Design with S-FOUNDATION Professional

Importing a superstructure from S-FRAME

Introduction to customizing and automating S-FOUNDATION using Wizards

Troubleshooting and Tips & Tricks
 

Format

The course is delivered in two live 2-hour lectures over a period of 3 days

Includes graded Assignments and Final exam (you will receive a score report for your records)

Certificate of mastery will be provided to attendees that achieve a final score above 75% and Educational Units will go towards an S-FRAME certification

Earn PDH (Professional Development Credits) for attendance
 

Who Should Attend

Any structural engineer responsible for the modeling, analysis, and design of footings, mat foundations, or pile foundations.

Prerequisites

Class registrants should have a technical education and background in civil or structural engineering

Min 2 GB RAM, Recommended 4 GB or more

Graphics: DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics card - Must support hardware vertex processing
